SuperLumin Proxy Cache Offered as BorderManager Path Forward on Linux
Dayton, OH, March 24, 2010—SuperLumin Networks, today announced an agreement with Novell where Novell will offer the SuperLumin Proxy Cache as the Novell BorderManager path forward. The SuperLumin Proxy Cache is Novell's preferred firewall and proxy solution for NetWare customers upgrading to Novell Open Enterprise Server on Linux.
The agreement provides Novell customers with a SuSE Linux-based, high-performance proxy cache. The SuperLumin product can be purchased via Novell sales and account teams worldwide under existing Novell master contracts.
"We are excited to offer our advanced web application and video proxy in collaboration with Novell to legacy BorderManager customers," says Louie Hollmeyer, SuperLumin VP of Marketing. "BorderManager customers looking for a Linux-based upgrade will be pleased to find both speed and functionality enhancements, including the ability to cache diverse media types such as Web video and social networking content." (See below).
SuperLumin software represents the latest generation of award-winning caching, content acceleration, and application acceleration solutions provided by SuperLumin Networks. SuperLumin is based on a SuSE Linux platform, providing industry-leading content acceleration capabilities for HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, and multiple forms of video content while also providing full eCDN distribution and management capabilities.
Additionally, in order to give customers adequate time to make the move, Novell has extended BorderManager General Support for two years (through March 7, 2012). Now, BorderManager customers under maintenance can be supported for two more years as they plan and deploy their upgrades.
SuperLumin Social Media Cache
With the proliferation of social media on the Web, SuperLumin's new Social Media Cache addresses the increasing need to cache and enable streaming video from social networking sites within corporate and campus environments. Network administrators struggle to keep up with the substantial amount of bandwidth consumed by social media sites such as Facebook™ and YouTube™. The SuperLumin Social Media Cache gives enterprises the ability to more efficiently deliver Web-based content from social media sites without adding bandwidth. The SuperLumin Social Media Cache is available in two versions-a campus edition and a corporate edition.
SuperLumin Networks is currently exhibiting at Novell's BrainShare conference (March 22-25, 2010) in booth #114 at Salt Palace Convention Center.
