NETCB received the award as Partner of the Year at Novell's annual Partner Summit in South Africa, called Reducation.  The 2009 Reducation Event was very well attended and marked a significant increase in Novell Partners within the South African region.  NETCB's partnership with Novell is one of the compay's primary relationships.  As one of the largest Novell partners in the EMEA region in terms of dedicated staff to Novell solutions, NETCB values this relationship as strategic to the company's business.  The past few years, especially in 2009, a significant growth in Novell related business has been experienced.

Novell's open strategy to partner, and the fact that Novell's technology enables so many more business opportunities with customers across the spectrum, NETCB is able to provide business solutions to customers in many different sectors, especially within Government, Banking, Aviation and Education.  The financial year 2009/2010 has already shown that it will provide many challenges across the industry.  Novell's solutions will enable many customers to cut their costs, but improve their efficiency that is required as business climbs through these recessionary times.

Each year during the Novell Reducation event, Novell awards their partners for their achievements within the Novell Ecosystem.  This year NETCB was awarded the Novell Partner of the Year.

NETCB staff members were also recognised for their exceptional performance:  Christian Reeve received the award for Outstanding Proficiency in Novell Technology and Freddy Mahhumane received the award as the Best Newcomer of the Year.

The Novell Reducation Event of 2009 was very well attended by Novell Partners.  A significant increase in the number of people attending must be noted.  The past few years a perception was created that Novell is on its way out, and many uninformed persons continue to to create this perception.  The facts are however completely the opposite.  Novell South Africa has managed to increase revenue numbers from previous years, the partner network has increased and the number of new customers has jumped.

NETCB as a Platinum Novell partner that operates in the whole of Africa, Europe and the United Kingdom,  has experienced a surge in Novell business the past few months, despite the global economic downturn.  It is also quite logical, as many organisations are looking at alternatives to reduce the cost of their information technology systems and improve on their return on investment.

With Novell, this has become an obvious choice, and the past few weeks have seen a number of organisations initiating migrations to Novell GroupWise, implementing Novell Teaming, such as the Kempinski Hotel Group, and securing themselves with Novell Identity Management and making sure that their organisations can manage compliance issues with the Novell Compliance Management Platform.

Novell's new Partner based model is starting to show its results and in 2009 this will become a high competitive approach from Novell that will ensure hat their market reach is restored.
